Edge trim nozzle is a key equipment used in the papermaking industry to cut the edges of paper webs, remove irregular or loose parts, and achieve precise and clean cutting through high-pressure water flow to improve the quality and production stability of finished paper.
Application of Trim Nozzle
On the paper machine, the irregular and loose edges of the wet or dry formed paper web are cut off to form neat and precise edges, ensuring that the width of the finished paper web meets the requirements and reducing the risk of paper breakage in subsequent processes.
Water needle technology uses pure high-pressure water and high-pressure water as a carrier for cutting, generating water velocities of up to 400-1000m/s through apertures of 0.1-0.4mm. The paper industry typically uses 350-2800 kilograms of pure high-pressure water for:
Dryer fabric cleaning, water needle trimming, water needle paper guiding, water needle slitting

Working Principle of Trim Nozzle
After using a high-pressure water pump to pressurize clean water, high-speed and continuous "water needles" (needle shaped liquid columns) are sprayed through a specially designed nozzle, and the paper edges are cut by the impact force of the water flow.
Material of Trim Nozzle
1.Common nozzle materials include 316 stainless steel, high alumina ceramics, etc., which can withstand pressures up to 140 bar.
2.Nozzle wear can cause water atomization, incomplete cutting, burrs, wire drawing, and even paper breakage, and should be replaced regularly.
3.Double hole or dual nozzle design can improve redundancy and avoid edge failure caused by bubbles or interruptions.

Installation Advice
1. The nozzle is usually tilted 10-20 degrees (towards the dry end) and laterally tilted 5-15 degrees (towards the edge of the machine) to prevent splashing and concentration of debris.
2.The recommended spraying distance is 50-150 millimeters. If it is too close, it may cause splashing pollution, while if it is too far away, the water flow will break and the impact force will decrease.
3.The installation position is often located after the vacuum suction box to avoid re wetting and closing the wet edge.
