4. The doctor blade must be installed in a convenient location for operation (lifting or replacing blades).

5. The measuring device should be installed inside the doctor blade rack.

After installing the doctor blade, a level gauge should be used to measure the horizontal position of the doctor blade. After reading the data each time, a thin gasket of appropriate thickness should be placed under the doctor blade to adjust it to the horizontal position. In some positions, it is also required to use an angle meter to determine the angle of the doctor blade.

Paper Machine Doctor Blade Maintenance:

Once it enters the maintenance period, the doctor blade is usually easily overlooked. But some simple daily maintenance can keep this device running efficiently and continuously.

1. The first very effective common practice is to frequently replace the doctor blades as needed. When the doctor blade wears out, the angle between it and the roller will change, thereby reducing the cleaning efficiency of the doctor blade. When the width of the doctor blade wears out by 6mm to 12mm, it needs to be replaced.

2. The second important component that needs attention is the doctor frame. Any damage to the scraper frame will affect the pressure between the doctor blade and the roller. Damaged doctor blade frames should be replaced in a timely manner.

3. During each inspection, the pressurization and swinging devices in operation should be carefully checked. When defects are found, repairs should be carried out.

One of the most effective ways to check for doctor blade problems is to visually inspect the doctor blades.

Although the doctor blade appears to be a simple piece of paper machine equipment with relatively low investment, its role is not insignificant. It can maintain the cleanliness of the paper machine rollers and fabrics (forming fabric, press felt, dryer fabric, etc.), extend the cleaning cycle and fabric service life of the paper machine, maintain normal operation of the paper machine and stable paper quality, and thus generate huge benefits.
