Size Press Roll

The paper machine size press roll is mainly used for sizing adhesive on the surface of paper web. Size press roll is installed on the after dryer section, when the mositure of paper web near air dried state then sizing the paper web.

The size press roll is used to apply adhesive to the surface of the paper web through the combination of a rubber coated roll and a chromed roll, in order to improve the printing performance, smoothness, and strength of the paper. This device is commonly used in paper machines for producing cultural paper, printing grade paper, and kraft paper.

The Difference of Top Size Press Roll and Bottom Size Press Roll

There is indeed a difference in the adhesive surface between top size press roll and bottom size press roll. The top size press roll adhesive surface usually pays more attention to wear resistance and corrosion resistance to cope with friction and chemical erosion during the sizing process. The bottom size press roll focuses more on elasticity and uniformity to ensure the accuracy of adhesive application and the flatness of the paper.
