Gravity Thickener is used in the pulp making process to improve the quality of the pulp by removing the excess water and solidifying the pulp. The gravity thickener is very important in the dewatering process for the concentration of sludge. The gravity thickener works on the principle of gravitational force by which the solid sludge is settled at the bottom of the sedimentation tank thus isolating the solid from the liquid.
